The autobau world of experience is the heart of autobau AG. It features a car exhibition with around 120 spectacular road sports cars and racing cars as well as classic and vintage cars from Fredy Lienhard's car collection and is also an event location near Zurich - unique in Switzerland.

The autobau erlebniswelt is an automobile event museum. It consists of a historic building complex, built with sand-colored and red bricks, and the huge outdoor area on the site of the former tank farm in Romanshorn. While the thick walls of the old industrial halls directly enclose the exhibition areas and the impressive event hall, the eye-catching polygon, also made of bricks, houses a 110-tonne steel tank with a diameter of 20 meters, a height of almost 13 meters and an air volume of 3 million liters. This huge steel structure in turn houses what is probably the most extraordinary exhibition hall of the automobile museum on Lake Constance.

A car museum as a world of experience

All of the buildings, some of which are listed, have been renovated with great effort, care and attention to detail in order to preserve their original character. The high-tech cars from different eras and ultra-modern high-tech supercars with hybrid technology form an exciting contrast to the walls, some of which are over 100 years old. Each exhibition space has its own special flair. The most spectacular exhibition hall is undoubtedly the huge steel tank, which once held 2.4 million liters of liquid and now houses three exhibition areas, one above the other.

A car exhibition as an event

Various lounges and event areas are integrated into the spacious exhibition halls of the fascinating car museum. There is a bar in the Pitlane Lobby of the central event hall and the outdoor area includes the spacious racing terrace as well as its own circuit on the site, which has the character of a real race track.
